The First Lady, Mrs. Lordina Mahama has been enstooled, as Sompahemaa of the Nkoranza Traditional Area, with a stool title, Nana Akosua Fremaa Ampomah Sika I. Mrs. Mahama pledged on oath to do her uttermost best to justify the faith reposed in her, and respond to duty call at all times. Mrs. Mahama made the pledge at her enstoolment ceremony, held at the Omanhemaa's Palace at Nkoranza in the Brong Ahafo region.
The First Lady, Mrs. Lordina Mahama, was led by Gyasehene and Akyeame to Omanhemaa's palace at Nkoranza. As customs demand, she performed the customary aseda to the Omanhene, of the Nkoranza Traditional area, Okatakyie Agyeman Kodom IV and his elders. Mrs. Mahama was then enstooled.
Mrs. Mahama is being recognized and described as a mother whose charity works, including the adoption and constant provision for the upkeep of seven orphanages and less privileged in society, and her medical outreach programme, to support health facilities with medical supplies, has touched many lives in the country and beyond.
At a Durbar to introduce the newly enstooled Sompahemaa of Nkoranza, Nana Akosua Frema Ampoma Sika I, who is also serving as a Queenmother, Mamaga Atafa Dunenyo” of Anloga in Oforikrom, Kumasi in the Ashanti region, Nkosuohemaa, Nana Sarpomaa I, conferred on her by the chiefs and elders of Bodom in Nkoranzaman, and development Queenmother of Ampomah, Nana Fremaa I, all in the Brong Ahafo region, where she hails from.
The Chief of Techiman, Oseadeyo Ameyaw Akumfi IV said kind gestures of illustrious sons and daughters of the land, not only Nkoranzaman, but the whole Brong Ahafo region has immensely benefited from, must be commended and the personalities duly honoured while they are still alive and not after their death.
The First Lady, Mrs. Lordina Mahama, Sompahemaa of Nkoranza, Nana Akosua Fremaa Ampomah Sika I, expressed her sincere gratitude to Okatakyie Agyeman Kudom IV, the cheif and the people of Nkoranza for the honour done her.
A citation, enumerating her good works and development projects she initiated in Nkoranza, was read in her honour and presented to her. The Mahama family were there to thank the chief of Nkoranza for the honour. They paid homage and showed their support and solidarity to the Sompahemaa.
To the ordinary native of Nkoranza, the enstoolment of Mrs. Mahama as Sompahemaa, served as a symbolic neutral ground for the people of Techiman and Nkoranza, who have had long standing disagreements, to come together and in oneness push for a common goal that would foster development in the region.
